Roots leaving the pot can spread into the tray and reach the water-control area. This AutoPot root-control sheet is designed to limit that growth. It sits in the designated position in a compatible 1Pot tray, beneath the pot, to help protect the system without changing its watering principle.

How it works
The metallic face provides root protection. The manufacturer recommends placing it face upwards in a 1Pot tray. Copper coloured describes the appearance of this face; the product should not be confused with a black growing-medium filter mat. It is also different from a PotSock that surrounds the base of a pot.

Compatibility and accessory selection
It complements compatible 1Pot pots and trays, including those in the AutoPot four-pot 15 L kit. A square Marix disc has a different function and belongs inside the pot. The 25 L XL module uses round protection, so this square sheet is not a direct replacement for it.
Installation
Remove the pot and clean its position before fitting. Check that the sheet matches the tray shape and lies flat without obstructing the valve or water passages. Place the metallic face upwards, then return the pot after cleaning its base and sides.
Maintenance
During maintenance between crops, inspect the surface and edges of the sheet and any roots around the pot. Replace protection that is damaged or no longer suitable. Keep the valve area free of debris; the sheet limits one route for root growth but does not eliminate the need to inspect the tray.
Practical questions
Is it the same as a Marix disc?
No. The metallic sheet is for root control. The black Marix disc mainly retains growing-medium particles inside the pot.
Does it fit the 25 L XL module?
The XL uses a round protection disc suited to its pot. This square sheet is for matching square positions, not a direct replacement for the XL disc.
