The main difference lies in their air processing capacity per hour. A 150m³/h filter is suitable for small areas, while the 250m³/h is suitable for medium-sized tents, and the 350m³/h for slightly larger setups. In practice, the higher the number, the more air volume the filter can handle and effectively neutralize odors in larger spaces.

Installing a Secret Jardin DF16 filter is simplified thanks to their modular fastening system. You just need to clip it directly onto your compatible Secret Jardin extractor. I advise you to place it inside your tent, at height, to capture the most odor-laden air. Make sure the ducts are airtight to prevent any unfiltered air leaks.

The lifespan of a Secret Jardin carbon filter generally varies between 9 and 12 months of continuous use, but this depends heavily on ambient humidity, temperature, and the intensity of odors to be filtered. Too high humidity can saturate the carbon more quickly. I recommend replacing it as soon as you start to perceive odors in your grow space.

For a 60x60 tent (volume of 0.72m³ if 2m high), I would direct you towards a 150m³/h filter, which will be amply sufficient. For a 90x90 tent (volume of 1.62m³ if 2m high), a 250m³/h filter would be a wise choice to ensure optimal filtration. The most obvious sign that a carbon filter is no longer effective is the reappearance of odors outside your grow space. You can also smell it directly by bringing your nose close to the air outlet of your extractor: if you detect odors, it's time to replace it. A saturated filter may also feel heavier.

The most common mistake is not ensuring a good seal between the filter, extractor, and ducts. Any unfiltered air leak will render your system ineffective. I often see installations where the filter is poorly positioned or the clamps are not tightened properly, which compromises filtration. Also, make sure not to expose it directly to high humidity.

Secret Jardin filters, especially those with the DF16 system, are designed to integrate perfectly with Secret Jardin extractors. However, it is possible to adapt them to other extractors by using reducers or clamps adapted to the diameter of your extractor. I always recommend using products from the same brand for optimal compatibility and hassle-free installation.

To extend the lifespan of your filter, I advise you to maintain moderate relative humidity in your grow space (ideally between 40% and 60%). Also, avoid placing it in a dusty environment without a pre-filter, as dust can clog the carbon pores. Good climate control is key to maximizing its efficiency and longevity.
