The correct valve is essential to a gravity-fed AutoPot system. This original AQUAvalve replaces a valve of the same generation in an installation using 6 mm pipe. It lets you retain compatible pots and pipework while renewing the part that controls water entering the tray.

How it works
Once connected to the reservoir, the valve admits water to a depth of approximately 20 mm. It then shuts off the inlet and waits until plants have used the water in the tray before allowing another fill. This cycle is mechanical: the valve itself needs no power socket, pump or timed programming. It does not adjust nutrient concentration or pH.

Compatibility and accessory selection
It matches the 6 mm generation, including the 25 L 1Pot XL module with 6 mm fittings. AQUAvalve5 uses 9 mm pipework: the two versions are not direct replacements for one another. The cover with integrated spirit level is a separate accessory for protecting and securing a valve in an open tray.
Installation
Shut off the water supply before working. Check the outside diameter of the pipe and the shape of the valve position, then secure the AQUAvalve as described in the tray instructions. Make sure the assembly is level and reconnect clean pipe without overtightening. Turn the water back on and watch a complete cycle before leaving the system running.
Maintenance
Regularly inspect the valve and the surrounding area: roots, growing-medium particles and deposits can obstruct the mechanism. Clean according to AutoPot instructions without using pointed tools in the openings. Check the filter and supply as well; a new valve cannot correct a blocked pipe or a sloping tray.
