HID (High Intensity Discharge) grow light
Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages:
The HID or High Intensity Discharge grow light has a low initial investment for indoor growers.
Disadvantages:
However, in the end, this lighting system will require additional costs for energy and ventilation.
Operation of the HID grow light
This range of light works by sending current through metal vapor which charges electrons, thus creating light. In 30 seconds, the light reaches full power but must be fully cooled before being turned on again, which is why it requires a lot of energy.
Alternative: LED grow light
The HID system produces a fairly powerful luminosity but a large amount of heat accompanies it. You will have to incur additional expenses to run a ventilation system permanently. People prefer to turn to the LED grow light because of its versatility.
This system provides the necessary amount of blue and red light during the flowering and growth periods. It does not incur additional expenses.
