Meliflor 3-in-1 EC, TDS and Temperature Meter
Monitor irrigation water with the Meliflor 3-in-1 meter: electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS) and temperature. Its pen design, HOLD function and automatic shut-off make routine checks easier in hydroponics and when mixing nutrient solutions.
Product presentation
Meliflor 3-in-1 EC, TDS and Temperature Meter
Take a reading of your water and nutrient solution before watering. The portable Meliflor meter combines EC, TDS and temperature so you can compare your source water with the mixed solution and track changes between watering sessions.
Useful readings when preparing irrigation water
- Compare before and after adding nutrients — EC provides an indication of the overall concentration of dissolved salts. Measuring the source water and then the mixed solution helps you track preparation.
- Keep a record of your settings — The HOLD function freezes the reading on screen while you record it in your growing log.
- Check several containers — The pen design is easy to carry between a mixing container, a reservoir and a water sample.
- Reduce unnecessary battery use — Automatic shut-off after 10 minutes of inactivity helps conserve battery power.
Understanding the readings
EC in µS/cm expresses the electrical conductivity of the solution. TDS in ppm estimates dissolved solids from that measurement. Temperature completes the reading. This device measures these three parameters; use a separate pH meter to check acidity. An EC/TDS reading does not identify individual nutrients and cannot establish whether water is safe to drink.

Getting started and taking a reading
- Place a sample of the solution in a clean container and mix it before checking.
- Remove the cap, switch the meter on and select the required measurement mode.
- Immerse only the probe section, up to the marked immersion limit. Keep the body and controls dry.
- Wait for the reading to stabilise. Press HOLD if you want to freeze it and note the displayed unit.
- After checking, rinse the probe, switch the meter off and replace the cap once the probe is clean and dry.
Caring for the meter
Rinse the probe with clean water after each use, especially after testing a nutrient solution. Avoid deposits, impacts and abrasive rubbing of the contacts. Store the capped meter in a dry place. Follow the instructions for this model for checks or calibration; do not apply a procedure intended for a pH probe.
GrowLED tip : Record the EC of your water before adding nutrients, then measure the prepared solution. Always compare readings in the same unit: 1,000 µS/cm equals 1 mS/cm. Before comparing ppm readings from two meters, check their TDS conversion factors.
Frequently asked questions
Does this meter also measure pH?
No. It measures EC, TDS and temperature. A separate meter is needed for pH.
Can I use it in a nutrient solution?
Yes, hydroponics is among its stated uses. Mix the solution before measuring and rinse the probe after each use.
Can the whole meter be submerged?
No. Respect the probe immersion limit and keep the body dry. No waterproof rating for the body has been confirmed.
Do ppm readings show how much of each nutrient is present?
No. TDS is an overall estimate of dissolved solids. It does not identify individual elements or their concentrations.
