To choose your Cosmorrow lamp, I advise you to first define the size of your growing space and the types of plants you wish to cultivate. Then, you can select the appropriate light spectrum and power. The modularity of Cosmorrow is a major asset, as it allows you to combine different bars for a customized solution.
I recommend using the 'Growth' spectrum (dominant blue) for the vegetative phase, as it promotes robust leaf and stem development. For flowering, the 'Bloom' spectrum (dominant red) is ideal for stimulating flower and fruit production. There are also 'Full Spectrum' or 'Infrared' spectra for more specific needs or to complement the basic spectra.
The main difference is that Cosmorrow LEDs are much more energy-efficient and generate less heat than HPS lamps. This simplifies temperature management in your growing space. Furthermore, Cosmorrow offers a much longer lifespan (50,000 hours) and a more precise and modulable light spectrum, which allows for optimizing growth at each stage. I have often seen growers switch from HPS to LED for these reasons.
A Cosmorrow horticultural LED lamp is used to provide your plants with the light necessary for their photosynthesis, especially indoors where natural light is insufficient or absent. It allows precise control of light intensity and spectrum, thus ensuring healthy growth and abundant flowering. It is an essential tool for any indoor grower who wishes to optimize their yields.
Installing Cosmorrow lamps is very simple. I advise you to securely attach them to the ceiling of your grow room or to a suitable support, ensuring they are well-centered above your plants. Use the clips or hangers provided or compatible. Make sure the electrical supply is compliant and the connections are watertight, especially in a humid environment. You can find installation examples in our Secret Jardin complete packs.
The ideal distance depends on the power of your lamp and the growth stage of your plants. In general, I recommend starting with a distance of about 30 to 45 cm for young seedlings and vegetative growth. For flowering, you can reduce this distance to 20-30 cm, but always carefully observe your plants for any signs of stress (yellowing or curling leaves). The goal is to maximize light intensity without burning the plants.
During the vegetative growth phase, I generally recommend a cycle of 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness. This promotes rapid and robust development. For flowering, you need to switch to a cycle of 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness to trigger and optimize flower production. These cycles are crucial for the proper biological processes of the plant.
A common mistake is not adjusting the distance or light intensity according to the growth stage, which can lead to etiolation or burns. I also often see growers neglecting the light spectrum, even though it is essential for optimizing each phase. Finally, make sure not to overwater to compensate for excessive heat if the ventilation is not adequate, even if Cosmorrow lamps produce little heat. A good understanding of your environment is key, as I sometimes explain when talking about indoor cultivation experts.
