Frequently asked questions
Your questions
Is it possible to connect this Primaklima PK100-L extractor in series with a carbon filter without significant airflow loss in a 1m² grow space?
Hello,
Yes, it is completely possible to connect the Prima Klima PK100-L extractor (280 m³/h, 100 mm) in series with a carbon filter in a grow space of about 1m².
Just keep in mind that a carbon filter will add resistance to the air, which can slightly reduce airflow. To minimize this loss, choose a filter suitable for the airflow of your extractor (around 280 m³/h) and ensure that the ducting and connections are well optimized.
In short, with a good connection and a well-sized filter, the impact on airflow will be limited and your ventilation will remain effective for a space of this size.
Hello, I would like to know if the Prima Klima PK100-L extractor, with its flow rate of 280 m3 per hour, is suitable for a growing room of about 1.5 m3 for my orchids, and if it is possible to program its operation continuously or in time slots to make my plants bloom all year round?
The Prima Klima PK100-L extractor, with its flow rate of 280 m³/h, is well suited for a growing room of about 1.5 m³ such as that for your orchids; it will allow an efficient air renewal without risk of excess. To program its operation continuously or in time slots, it does not have this function built-in, but you can easily connect it to an external timer, which will give you precise climate control to make your plants bloom all year round.
What difference in noise pollution is observed between this Prima Klima PK100-L extractor and a standard model with the same air flow rate in indoor cultivation with LED?
The Prima Klima PK100-L stands out due to its particularly low noise emissions, thanks to its optimized AC motor and rear-curved blades, designed to reduce noise during operation. Compared to a standard extractor with the same air flow rate, which often uses less effective motors in terms of quietness, the PK100-L offers a more discreet noise level, which is a real benefit for indoor cultivation under LED where acoustic comfort matters. The difference is noticeable, especially if noise is an important criterion for you.

Is the Prima Klima PK100-L extractor sufficient for a 1m² box with 3 plants in growth?
The Prima Klima PK100-L extractor (100 mm diameter, 280 m³/h airflow) is completely suitable for a 1m² box with 3 plants in growth. The volume of air to be renewed in this space is approximately 1.8 m³, which requires an airflow rate between 108 and 216 m³/h for air renewal 1 to 2 times per minute. With its 280 m³/h, this extractor provides more than enough air supply.
However, it is important to keep in mind that adding a carbon filter or ducting with several bends may slightly reduce the airflow. Despite this, the power of the Prima Klima PK100-L remains sufficient to maintain good ventilation in this type of setup.
What is the compatibility of this extractor with an automatic ventilation control system?
The Prima Klima extractor - Diam 100 mm - 280m³/h - 1 speed - 40W operates with a single-speed AC motor, with no built-in speed controller or electronic management. It can be controlled automatically via an external on/off system, for example using a thermostat or a relay that cuts off or activates its power supply.
However, it does not support continuous speed modulation or control by electronic signal (low voltage), as is possible with extractors equipped with EC motors or built-in controllers. For finer ventilation management, a model compatible with these technologies should be preferred.
What performance difference in extraction do you notice between this PK100-L model and an extractor of the same diameter but with a DC motor in terms of flow rate and electrical consumption?
The Prima Klima PK100-L has an AC motor with a fixed flow rate of 280 m³/h and a consumption of 40 W. In comparison, an extractor of the same diameter equipped with a DC motor generally offers a similar, often adjustable flow rate, with reduced electrical consumption of 20 to 40%, typically between 25 W and 35 W.
This DC technology also allows for more precise speed regulation, quieter operation, and better longevity. In summary, the DC extractor is more economical and flexible, while the PK100-L remains robust and high-performing with a single speed.
