The Phonic Trap duct reduces the noise of ventilation systems by about 50% compared to a standard aluminum duct, which results in a notable attenuation in practice. However, a precise value in decibels (dB) for this reduction is not specifically provided. Generally, a perceived halving corresponds to about 3 dB, but for an exact figure, specific sound measurements would be needed. This duct remains an excellent choice for effectively mitigating noise in an indoor growing environment.
The Phonic Trap Sleeve 3 meters - Ø100mm Pre-cut is perfectly compatible with standard 100 mm extractors without requiring an additional adapter. Its precise diameter and microporous flexible design ensure direct installation while providing excellent sound insulation and light tightness. You can easily integrate it into your existing extraction system.
The Phonic Trap duct 3 meters - Ø100mm is perfectly compatible with the vast majority of standard market extractors, whether they are extractors, intractors, or aerators. Its multi-layer design, including a steel spiral framework and polyester insulation, ensures long-lasting sound reduction.
It supports continuous use without loss of efficiency thanks to its robust materials and ability to operate within a wide temperature range (-20°C to 80°C). It is a reliable choice for reducing noise in your indoor growing installations.
To ensure optimal noise reduction without harming air quality, it is advisable to inspect the sheath every 6 to 12 months to check that it remains clean, dry, and free from tears. Cleaning can be done with a dry or slightly damp cloth, without aggressive products.
Replacement is only necessary if the sheath shows significant signs of wear (holes, rigidity, notable reduction in airflow, or increased noise). Under normal conditions, it can last for several years while maintaining its performance.
The Phonic Trap sheath 3 meters - Ø100mm is specially designed for soundproofing, featuring a multi-layer structure that includes a fleece insulation and a microporous lining. This acoustic design results in a slightly higher pressure loss compared to that of a smooth standard aluminum duct of the same diameter and length.
In practice, a standard aluminum duct presents a low pressure loss, typically between 1 and 5 Pa per meter, depending on the flow rate. The Phonic Trap, due to its structure and absorbent materials, could see its pressure loss increase by 10 to 30% compared to an aluminum duct. However, this difference remains moderate, offering a good compromise between significant noise reduction and airflow performance.
For an optimal balance between silence and ventilation efficiency, the Phonic Trap is a very interesting solution when substantial noise reduction is sought without sacrificing air flow quality.
The Phonic Trap duct 3 meters - Ø100mm is perfectly compatible with a standard 60x60 extractor box, thanks to its suitable diameter of 100 mm. It installs without any additional adapter.
It offers an effective sound reduction due to its multi-layer design (polyester wadding, steel frame, microporous coating) which absorbs noise related to air flow. This acoustic comfort is often highlighted by users.
Moreover, its structure optimizes the maintenance of air flow, with negligible pressure loss when the length remains reasonable, ensuring efficient extraction without compromise.
To maximize sound reduction with the Phonic Trap 3 meters Ø100 mm duct while maintaining good airflow, here are the essential keys:
This duct, thanks to its micro-porous interior, absorbs up to 50% of the noise compared to a standard aluminum duct, offering an ideal solution for quieter indoor cultivation without sacrificing ventilation.
The Phonic Trap Duct 3 meters - Ø100mm is designed to reduce noise from ventilation systems, but it does not have native home automation integration to monitor air flow or noise level.
To achieve this type of monitoring, it is necessary to add external sensors (flow meter, sound level meter) compatible with your home automation system. These sensors can be connected to a central unit that collects and analyzes the data in real-time.
Thus, if your project requires precise control of air flow and noise, the duct acts as an acoustic insulator, while third-party devices will ensure the measurement and monitoring desired.
The Phonic Trap sheath 3 meters - Ø100 mm offers a noise reduction of about 50% compared to a classic aluminum sheath, mainly on noise related to air flow in the mid and low frequencies. This reduction concerns the overall perceived noise, but it is not constant across the entire sound spectrum.
Regarding the air pressure, this multi-layer sheath does not cause any significant loss over a length of 3 meters, allowing a 100 mm extractor, particularly under LED lighting, to operate efficiently without compromising airflow or ventilation.
The Phonic Trap duct 3 meters Ø100 mm, specially designed to limit noise nuisance while ensuring good airflow, generates a moderate pressure drop. Over a length of 3 meters in a compact micro-culture with a typical flow rate of 100 to 200 m³/h, this drop is generally between 20 and 50 Pa.
Thanks to its insulation and stable diameter, it fits perfectly into a standard ventilation system without compromising performance or the continuous efficiency of extraction.
The Phonic Trap 3 meters - Ø100mm duct offers excellent flexibility thanks to its spiral steel wire frame, allowing it to be easily bent in a compact installation without permanent deformation.
Its multi-layer design, combining rigidity and acoustic insulation, ensures a noise reduction of about 50% while maintaining a smooth airflow and a pressure loss close to that of a classic flexible duct. As long as the duct is not excessively crushed, you will not lose acoustic efficiency or airflow.
It is therefore an ideal choice for tight spaces where you want to reduce noise while ensuring good air circulation.
The Phonic Trap duct 3 meters – Ø100 mm pre-cut is perfectly compatible with standard 100 mm extractors, thanks to its precise diameter and flexible design with a spiral steel framework, without the need for adapters.
To optimize sound reduction, we recommend avoiding excessive bends and incorrectly sized connections to prevent disrupting airflow and acoustic performance. The duct has a multi-layer structure with polyester quilt insulation, ensuring significant noise attenuation while maintaining good airflow. Its robustness and flexibility guarantee a durable installation, suitable for temperatures ranging from -20°C to 80°C.
In summary, this duct is an excellent choice for improving the acoustic comfort of your 100 mm extraction system without compromising ventilation.
The Phonic Trap Duct 3 meters - Ø100mm can indeed be integrated into a home automation ventilation system with remote control of airflow and noise levels. Thanks to its three-layer structure, it provides excellent noise reduction while maintaining optimal air flow, which perfectly complements the electronic remote management functions.
This duct is a passive component, without electronics, but its flexibility and robustness facilitate its installation in advanced ventilation networks. It does not limit automated control capabilities; on the contrary, it contributes to a quieter and more efficient environment.
The Phonic Trap 3 meter - Ø100mm effectively maintains its acoustic performance and light-tightness over the long term, even under intensive use and with temperature fluctuations. Its multi-layer construction ensures a notable reduction in noise at low and mid frequencies while maintaining crush and pressure robustness.
It handles well the variable conditions encountered in indoor cultivation, preventing light from penetrating and limiting the degradation of its phonetic and mechanical capabilities. However, to ensure optimal durability, it is advisable to monitor its condition regularly, especially if it is exposed to extreme conditions such as high humidity or excessive heat.
The Phonic Trap 3 meters - Ø100mm duct is primarily designed to reduce noise disturbances in your ventilation systems. Thanks to its 25 mm insulating layer, it decreases noise by 40 to 50% compared to a standard aluminum duct.
However, this duct does not significantly limit heat transmission. Its insulation is optimized for acoustic absorption, not thermal insulation. If your goal is to reduce transmitted heat, it is better to choose a duct specifically dedicated to thermal insulation.
The Phonic Trap duct 3 meters - Ø100mm has a pressure drop ranging from 6.7 to 16.7 Pa/m, which is slightly higher than a standard aluminum duct whose pressure drop is generally below 10 Pa/m due to a smoother inner surface.
This slight increase in flow resistance is due to the integrated sound-absorbing materials, which, however, allow for a noise reduction of 40 to 50% compared to a traditional aluminum duct. Thus, the Phonic Trap offers an excellent compromise between acoustic comfort and ventilation performance without significantly penalizing air flow.
The Phonic Trap 3 meter - Ø100mm duct is compatible with extractors offering an air flow of more than 400 m³/h, but this configuration is not ideal for optimizing performance. Indeed, its 100 mm diameter generates a higher pressure drop at these flow rates, which can reduce the actual flow and increase noise. For high flow rates, we recommend ducts with a diameter of 125 or 150 mm.
Regarding bending, the duct can be curved without significantly compromising its acoustic efficiency, provided that tight bends or crushes are avoided. Its multi-layer structure and spiral steel armature ensure good noise absorption even with moderate curves.
In summary:
The Phonic Trap 3 meters - Ø100mm duct is designed with a layer of optimized insulating wool for excellent acoustic absorption, providing a durable sound reduction of 40 to 50% compared to a classic aluminum duct. Its sturdy design with dust-proof and mold-proof materials ensures good longevity, provided that mechanical damage is avoided and regular dusting is performed.
Without specific data on a quantifiable duration, it can be estimated that its sound reduction performance is maintained for several years during continuous use, thanks to this effective insulation and proper maintenance.
