Frequently asked questions
Your questions
This fan looks exceptional. However, I'm wondering about its use for my Phalaenopsis. It has a power of 12W, is it enough to ensure optimal ventilation for my 20 plants without drying them out? Also, you mention that it is very quiet, but do you have a precise idea of the sound level in decibels? I would like to get an idea so as not to be disturbed by the noise.
The 20 cm Garden HighPro Profan clip-on fan with a power of 20W is more than capable of efficiently ventilating a space containing 20 Phalaenopsis orchids. It is particularly recommended to orient it in such a way as to stir the ambient air without blowing directly on the plants to avoid drying out. In terms of sound, although we do not have an exact decibel measurement for this specific model, feedback from customers and distributor reviews indicate that it is known for being very quiet. If we base on other similar models, its sound level could be estimated between 35 and 45 dB, which equates to a discreet background noise and generally not disturbing. In summary, this fan is not only quiet but also powerful and suited to your needs. It will help you maintain a breezy and healthy atmosphere for your dear Phalaenopsis.
Clip fan 20cm 12W really silent? Can it run continuously without overheating?
The PRO FAN clip fan - 20cm - 12W - Garden HighPro is designed for continuous indoor growing use. Its motor is optimized to run without overheating issues. Regarding silence, it is compact and efficient, but it will not be completely inaudible: it produces a slight noise, typical for this category.
20cm clamp fan 12W quiet enough for micro-cultivation in 60x60?
The PROFAN clip fan - 20 cm - 12 W is particularly suitable for micro-cultivation on a surface of 60x60 cm. Very quiet, it provides effective ventilation with an airflow of 390 m³/h, sufficient to renew the air and create a light breeze beneficial to the plants. Its moderate power consumption of 12 W and 2100 revolutions/min make it a powerful and economical fan. Its clip mounting is ideal for securing the fan in a culture tent or a confined space.
What is the air flow rate in m³ per hour for this PROFAN clip fan?
The PROFAN clip fan - 20cm - 7.5W does not have a specifically indicated air flow rate in m³/h. By comparison, a similar 12W fan can achieve around 325 m³/h. Therefore, it can be estimated that the 7.5W model offers a slightly lower flow rate, suitable for a moderate air flow for good circulation in your growing spaces.
What real air flow can be expected from the PROFAN 20cm 12W clip fan under 220-240V for a closed space like a cupboard 60x60x120cm?

The PROFAN 20cm 7.5W clip fan features a motor designed for continuous use without overheating, ensuring satisfactory durability. Although we do not have exact data on its precise longevity, the reliability-oriented design is a strong point.
Regarding after-sales service, the similar 12W model is covered by a two-year warranty, reflecting a solid commitment from the manufacturer. In case of failure, our GrowLED team also remains highly responsive to assist you effectively.
How do you integrate this clip fan into an automation system to optimize ventilation without exceeding a certain noise level?
To integrate the PROFAN - 20cm - 12W clip fan into an automated system optimizing ventilation while controlling the noise level, it is essential to add a dimmer (PWM type) that adjusts the speed and thus the noise generated. Coupled with temperature, humidity, or CO2 sensors, it can activate only when needed, thereby limiting operating time and noise.
Using a programmable controller or a microcontroller allows precise control of this operation based on the measured data, with the possibility to time or modulate the speed. To minimize mechanical noise nuisance, mount the fan on an isolated vibration-damping support using its robust clip.
Finally, integrating a connected noise sensor can help monitor and automatically limit the sound volume by reducing the fan's power if necessary.
Is the PROFAN 20cm clip fan powerful enough to replace an oscillating fan in a 1m² growing space and effectively limit heat without increasing noise?
The PROFAN 20 cm – 12 W clip fan offers an airflow of 325 m³/h, making it efficient enough for an area around 1 m², ensuring good air circulation and limiting heat. Its very quiet design with a magnetic motor makes it an excellent option for not increasing noise in your growing space.
However, this model is ideal for areas up to 0.6 m². For more powerful air mixing and better heat control over 1 m², a 20 W Garden HighPro oscillating fan may be more suitable while remaining discreet.
In summary, the PROFAN 12 W clip fan can replace an oscillating fan in 1 m² if the installation allows for good air distribution, without compromising the calm of your cultivation.
What is the real electric consumption of the 12W 20cm fan over 24 hours in kWh and what is the ventilation efficiency per watt consumed?
