Help & advice

Frequently asked questions

About Model One — bars and drivers — click a question to see the answer.

Which ThinkGrow LED bar wattage should I choose for my indoor grow?

The choice of wattage really depends on the surface area of your grow space and the specific needs of your plants. Generally, for a small tent, I recommend starting with low to medium power bars, which you can then adjust. For larger areas or demanding crops, a higher total wattage will naturally be required. Also, consider the growth phase: flowering requires more power than vegetative growth. It's a balance to find.

How do I install ThinkGrow by TrolMaster LED bars?

Installing ThinkGrow LED bars is quite intuitive, which I really appreciate. They are designed to be modular. In practice, you will generally attach them to a structure or frame above your plants. I always advise making sure the structure is solid and stable to support the weight. Power is then supplied via the provided connectors. Don't forget to follow the specific user manual for your model for optimal and safe assembly.

What is the distance between ThinkGrow LED bars and plants?

The distance between your ThinkGrow LED bars and your plants is crucial for good growth. What I often see is a tendency to place the lights too close, which can cause heat stress or leaf bleaching. I recommend starting at a distance of about 30 to 60 cm, depending on the power of your bars and the growth stage. Observe your plants carefully: if they show signs of stress, move the bars a little further away. The advantage of bars is their uniform distribution, which often allows them to be placed a little closer than classic panels without the risk of hot spots.

What is the difference between ThinkGrow LED bars and classic LED panels?

The main difference, and what makes ThinkGrow LED bars so strong, lies in their linear format. A classic LED panel often concentrates light on a smaller area, creating hot spots and shaded areas. Bars, on the other hand, allow for ultra-uniform light distribution over the entire grow surface, which minimizes shaded areas and ensures homogeneous growth for all your plants. This is a major advantage for maximizing the yield and quality of your harvest.

What are ThinkGrow LED bars used for in indoor growing?

ThinkGrow LED bars are specifically designed to provide optimal lighting for your plants in indoor cultivation. Their goal is to best simulate sunlight, providing the necessary light spectrum for each phase of plant development, from germination to flowering. Thanks to their linear format, they guarantee homogeneous coverage, avoiding under-lit areas and promoting vigorous growth and maximum yield. They are a fundamental pillar for successful indoor cultivation.

How do I know if ThinkGrow LED bars are suitable for my plants?

To know if ThinkGrow LED bars are suitable, I advise you to look at the specific needs of your plants in terms of light spectrum and intensity. ThinkGrow bars generally offer a full or adjustable spectrum, which makes them versatile for a wide variety of crops. If your plants require intense lighting and homogeneous distribution, as is the case for most horticultural crops, then yes, they are very well suited. I explain in more detail how to choose lighting in this article.

What mistakes should I avoid with ThinkGrow LED bars?

The most common mistake I encounter is not adjusting the height of the bars according to plant growth. You need to be vigilant and raise or lower the bars to maintain the optimal distance. Another mistake is neglecting ventilation: even if LEDs heat up less than other systems, good air circulation remains essential. Finally, not respecting the recommended light cycles for your plants can also compromise the results. Always consider the overall environment of your grow.

What light spectrum do ThinkGrow LED bars offer?

ThinkGrow LED bars are renowned for offering a very complete and optimized light spectrum for plant growth. Most models integrate a 'full spectrum', which covers the wavelengths essential for photosynthesis, from blue (for vegetative growth) to red (for flowering), including green and sometimes UV and IR. This ensures that your plants receive all the light information they need at each stage of their development, which is crucial for their vigor and productivity.
