Complete your water without breaking the vegan line
Growing vegan does not exempt you from the constraints of water. Reverse-osmosis, rain or naturally soft water lacks calcium and magnesium, whatever the nature of your nutrients. Atami's VGN CalMag fills that gap while staying within the range's logic: no animal input.
Why a vegan version of CalMag?
A growing programme is only worth its weakest link. Adopting a vegan range for base nutrition, then correcting the water with an animal-derived product, breaks the coherence of the whole. VGN CalMag closes that gap.
- Calcium supplied — Cell walls build normally.
- Magnesium supplied — Chlorophyll gets its central element.
- Vegan coherence — The programme stays free of animal input start to finish.
- Control Union certified — Approved for ecological agriculture.

When does it become necessary?
The threshold is the same as for any CalMag: below 0.3 mS/cm EC on your source water, the supplement becomes essential. That covers reverse osmosis, rainwater, softened water and naturally poor supplies. In coco it earns its place even on moderately hard water.
Vegan coherence held to the end, water correction included.
Its place in the VGN range
VGN CalMag is the range's cross-cutting corrective: it accompanies the 5-2-2 in growth, the 2-2-4 in transition and the 1-4-4 in bloom alike. Use it throughout the cycle, whenever water quality calls for it.
How to use VGN CalMag
Mixing order matters as much as quantity.
- Dosage — Follow the rate on the bottle, according to your water hardness.
- Order — Add it first to clean water, before base nutrients.
- pH — Adjust pH last, once the whole mix is made.
- Phase — Throughout the cycle, in growth and in bloom.
Your water is completed without stepping outside the vegan logic of your programme.
Joseph's tip: "Like every CalMag, this one goes into clean water first — never into the cap with a concentrated nutrient, or the calcium precipitates and you lose both products."
