It is sometimes advantageous to carry out its plantations indoors, for different reasons (a difficult climate, too low temperatures, too low luminosity ...). In these cases, it is advisable to opt for a LED horticultural lighting, adapted to the development of indoor plants.

What material?

To help achieve your indoor seedlings, you will need four elements:

- Some water

- Potting soil

- containers (such as yoghurt pots or even boxes of eggs ...)

- LED horticultural lighting (ideally)

The establishment of pots

When you have chosen your pots, it will simply wash and dry. Do not hesitate to make small holes under the pots to facilitate the drainage of the water. Then, place inside these containers expanded clay balls or chippings.

Make a balanced mix of sand and potting soil and pour it into your containers. Do not forget to compress the potting soil.

Seed of seeds

For small seeds, put them on the surface at a distance (about 5mm) and push them lightly with your fingers. Then tamp the top to close. Water lightly.

For large seeds, dig about 2cm and introduce the seeds. Cover the holes with a thin layer of sieved compost and then tamp. Water lightly.

Also remember to label each pot so you do not forget where each plant is!

Take care of young plants

Place the seedlings under lighting at a temperature of about 20 ° C.

The SpectraLINE range of BloomLED brand offers LED horticultural bars optimized for growth, but also for the flowering of your plants indoors. There is also a waterproof alternative range (IP65) for more humid environments.

With the exception of salads, dill, savory and celery, all other seeds do not need light to germinate. It is when the stems come out of the soil that light becomes primordial.

There are also sprays to water your seedlings daily. Do not hesitate to place a lid (glass or plastic) over the pots to facilitate germination. Be sure to remove these covers on your seedlings for at least 4 hours each day.

Afterwards it will be important to change the pots for your seedlings, which will need space to grow.
