Sanlight is a brand of high quality LED lamps designed for horticulture. Sanlight LED lamps are manufactured in Austria and are used by professional growers for plant growth and flowering. They are equipped with advanced technologies that allow the light spectrum to be adjusted according to the needs of each stage of growth of the plant. Sanlight offers a full range of LED lights, including floodlights, panels and track modules to meet the needs of different types of crops. Sanlight LED lamps are also eco-responsible, as they consume less energy than traditional lamps and have a longer lifespan, reducing costs and environmental impact.
Help & advice
About Sanlight — click a question to see the answer.
To choose your Sanlight EVO lamp, I advise you to consider the size of your grow space. EVO models are designed to fit different widths. For example, a SANlight EVO 3 - 60 is ideal for a 60x60 cm tent. I always recommend checking the specifications of each model to ensure optimal coverage and uniform PPFD across the entire surface.
The main difference lies in their design and technological evolution. The Q series, like the Q4W, are Sanlight's historical models, known for their robustness. The more recent EVO series incorporates the latest advancements in light efficiency and secondary optics, offering even higher output and better thermal management. In practice, EVO models are often more powerful for the same power consumption.
For a 100x100 cm tent, I would direct you towards a solution that ensures excellent light uniformity. A SANlight EVO 3 - 100 is an excellent choice, as it is specifically designed for this width. If you prefer the Q series, a Q6W 245W could also be suitable, but I find that the EVO models offer better distribution for this size.
The dimmer, whether it's the Dimmer M for EVO Series or the Sanlight M-Dimmer Q-Serie Gen2, is an essential accessory for adjusting the light intensity of your lamps. I highly recommend it because it allows you to adapt the power to each growth phase of your plants, avoiding light stress and optimizing energy consumption. It's a key tool for precise control of your growing environment.
During the growth phase, I recommend positioning your Sanlight a little higher and reducing the light intensity (about 50-75% with a dimmer) to promote healthy vegetative development without burning young shoots. For flowering, you can bring the lamp closer and increase the intensity to 100% to maximize flower production. Exact heights depend on the model and environment, but generally, I aim for 40-60 cm during growth and 20-40 cm during flowering, always observing the plants' reaction.
That's an excellent question and a common observation! What you perceive as a 'broken chip' is actually the Far-Red spectrum. These LEDs emit light that the human eye perceives very weakly, if at all, which gives the impression that they are off or defective. But I can assure you that this spectrum is crucial for flowering and stem elongation, and it works perfectly well, even if you don't see it distinctly.
The difference is significant, and I see it daily in cultivation results. Sanlight LEDs offer a full and optimized spectrum for all phases, with much higher energy efficiency and less heat generated compared to HPS. This translates into better harvest quality, potentially higher yields, and reduced electricity consumption. Furthermore, the lifespan of LEDs is much longer. If I had to choose, I would always prioritize LEDs for modern and high-performance indoor cultivation.
