Frequently asked questions
Your questions
Can multiple 26W LED horticultural bars be synchronized in series via DMX to create a pulsing light effect accompanied by optimal plant growth?
The 26W LED horticultural bar - 60cm - B26W - Modular does not appear to natively include a DMX interface for direct series synchronization via this protocol. To achieve a pulsed light effect with multiple bars, it would be necessary to use a DMX-compatible control system or a specific driver capable of interfacing these bars with a DMX controller.Technically, if your bars can be intensity-controlled via a compatible module, DMX does allow creating a synchronized pulsed effect on multiple devices, which can indeed provide a lighting environment suitable for plant growth. It is therefore essential to verify if you have or can add a DMX module to these bars to perform this type of programming. Otherwise, LED lighting solutions already integrated with DMX are available in the catalog. For more information or options, feel free to consult our full range of LED horticultural bars which offers various options with integrated DMX management.

If you are looking for a complete system with intensity control, you can also discover our compatible controllers offered on GrowLED.
What is the actual electric consumption in kWh per day for a setup of 4 B26W LED bars running continuously for 18 hours a day in a 1.5m x 1.5m grow chamber, and what is the total photosynthetic yield in µmol/s provided with this configuration?
For a setup of 4 B26W LED bars (26W each) running 18 hours a day in a 1.5m x 1.5m grow chamber:
Actual electric consumption:
The total power consumed is 104 W (26W x 4). Over 18 hours, this amounts to approximately 1.87 kWh per day.
Total photosynthetic yield:
Estimating an average yield of 2 µmol/s per watt, each bar produces about 52 µmol/s, leading to a total of approximately 208 µmol/s for 4 bars.
This configuration offers an excellent consumption/light output ratio suitable for the growth and development of seedlings and young plants under horticultural LED lighting.
How do you manage the heat generated when connecting 10 B26W LED grow bars in series in a compact grow room?
To effectively manage the heat generated by 10 B26W LED grow bars in series in a compact grow room, it is essential to optimize ventilation to extract warm air and renew the ambient air. Install an appropriate extraction system and fans to encourage good air flow.
Also make sure to properly space the LED bars to avoid excessive heat concentration in one spot. Monitor the temperature with thermometers to adjust the lighting if necessary.
Finally, if the temperature remains high, an active cooling system (air conditioner or water chiller) may be considered to maintain an optimal environment for your plants. These best practices ensure a balance between light output and thermal management for healthy growth.
Is the light output of 26W and the spectrum 6600K of this LED horticultural bar sufficient for a SCROG/LST setup under LED in a 1x1m tent without shadow areas?
For a SCROG/LST setup in a 1x1m tent, a single 26W LED horticultural bar with a 6600K spectrum will likely be insufficient to ensure even coverage without shadow areas. The recommended light output is rather around 30 to 40W per 0.1m², which requires a higher total power for this area.
Regarding the spectrum, 6600K is ideal for vegetative growth, but in flowering, a warmer spectrum between 2700K and 3000K further promotes flower production. To maximize results and uniformity, it would be wise to opt for multiple bars or a more powerful lamp with a spectrum suitable for the complete cycle.
What temperature does this LED bar generate when in operation, and is an active ventilation system required to limit heat in a compact growing chamber?
The LED Bar for Horticulture 26W - 60cm - Spectrum for Seedlings, Cuttings, and Growth - B26W - Modular generates a surface temperature generally below 50°C, much lower than powerful traditional lamps. However, in a compact growing chamber, it is strongly recommended to install an active ventilation system.
This allows for maintaining an ideal temperature between 20°C and 28°C, ensuring good air circulation to prevent the appearance of mold, and regulating humidity, all essential for the optimal health of your plants. Even with a moderate consumption of 26W, ventilation guarantees a stable and conducive environment for the development of young plants and cuttings.
For an effective solution, you can combine this LED bar with a suitable ventilation system that will fit perfectly into your limited space.
What is the total power consumption if you connect ten LED bars in series and how does it impact the necessary ventilation in a compact grow room?
If you connect ten 26W LED bars in series, the total power consumption remains the same as that of a single bar, because in series the current is constant and the voltage adds up. This means that the consumption is not 10 x 26 W, but rather 26 W in total in this type of setup.
However, in practice, horticultural LED bars are generally powered in parallel to ensure correct and stable operation, which would then result in a total consumption of 260W (10 x 26W).
Regarding ventilation, regardless of the connection, the cumulative thermal dissipation of the ten bars generates non-negligible heat in a compact room. Therefore, it is imperative to install an efficient ventilation system to expel this heat, maintain a stable temperature, and avoid plant stress.
In summary: The series configuration does not increase the power consumed, but the ventilation must be sized to handle the total heat generated by the ten bars, which is around 260W, especially in confined spaces.
What is the ideal distance between this 26W horticultural LED bar and my seedlings to avoid burns while ensuring optimal growth?
For the 26W LED Garden Bar - 60cm, the ideal distance between the LED bar and your seedlings is generally between 15 and 30 cm. This range helps prevent burns while ensuring adequate light for optimal growth.
This distance may vary depending on the specific needs of your plants: the more sensitive they are, the more distance they will benefit from. It is important to regularly observe the condition of the leaves and make adjustments as necessary. If your setup allows, an intensity adjustment system can also be an excellent solution to fine-tune the lighting.
What is the real effect of the 6600K blue spectrum of this 26W LED horticultural bar on root development during a complete cutting cycle under LED compared to a mixed LST SCROG lighting?
The 6600K blue spectrum of the 26W LED horticultural bar is particularly effective in promoting rapid and robust rooting during a complete cutting cycle. This light activates the essential photoreceptors for photosynthesis, thereby encouraging healthy vegetative growth and optimal root development. It also helps limit stem stretching for more compact and sturdy plants.
In comparison, mixed lighting like that used in LST SCROG offers a broader, balanced light for all growth phases, particularly leaf density and branching, but is less targeted at initial rooting. The 6600K LED bar is therefore more specific and energy-efficient in promoting the recovery and initial development of cuttings.
In summary, for the critical cutting phase, the 6600K blue spectrum provides a clear advantage in terms of rooting speed and quality, while mixed lighting will be more relevant for the subsequent growth stages.

Can this 26W horticultural LED bar B26W be used in parallel with red spectrum lighting to cover both growth and flowering in the same growing chamber without the risk of overheating or electrical overload?
It is perfectly possible to use the 26W B26W LED horticultural bar, optimized for growth (6600K spectrum), in parallel with red spectrum lighting for flowering in the same growing chamber. These spectra are complementary and ideally meet the light needs of plants from sowing to flowering.
Regarding thermal management, the low power of 26W of the B26W bar generates little heat. When combined with a red LED, the heat remains manageable as long as adequate ventilation is provided. Horticultural LEDs are designed for indoor use with a long lifespan without noticeable overheating.
On the electrical side, it is essential to ensure that the total power of the connected lights does not exceed the circuit’s total capacity (generally 10-16A, i.e., 2200-3500W). The B26W bar, with its ability to chain up to 10 units, fits well into this framework, without risk of overload as long as the installations are properly sized.
To optimize your setup, also consider using compatible drivers and intensity control to adapt the lighting to the different growing phases.
In summary, yes, this combination is an effective and safe solution for indoor cultivation throughout the entire vegetative cycle, while ensuring good electrical practices and ventilation.
What is the best method to manage the lighting schedule if I want to run this 26W horticultural LED bar in parallel with a red spectrum floral light to maximize growth and flowering in the same grow room without disrupting the light cycles of each phase?
To optimize growth and flowering in the same chamber with your 26W horticultural LED bar (growth spectrum 6600K) combined with red flowering light, it is essential to manage the light cycles well:
- Vegetative phase: run the growth LED bar for 16 to 18 hours a day, while the red light remains off.
- Flowering transition: gradually decrease the on time of the growth LED bar while increasing that of the red light, tailoring the cycle to the plants' needs.
- Flowering phase: primarily use the red light for 12 hours, turning off the growth bar.
It is important to not run both lights at the same time, as the spectrums can interfere with each other and alter the natural light signals of the plants. Use timers or independent controllers to strictly adhere to these timings, while ensuring a minimum of 12 hours of complete darkness during flowering, which is essential for proper development.
This organization will allow you to fully exploit the potential of each spectrum without confusion for your plants, thus maximizing their growth at every stage.
