Frequently asked questions
Your questions
Hello, could you confirm if the dimmer to adjust power from 60 to 600 watts is included with the HLG 600 BSpec or if it needs to be purchased separately?
The dimmer to adjust power from 60 to 600 watts is indeed included with the HLG 600 BSpec. So, you do not need to purchase it separately.
Is it recommended to use a separate timer for each HLG 600 BSpec if I run two different crops simultaneously to adapt the light cycle to each species?
Yes, it is recommended to use a separate timer for each HLG 600 BSpec if your two crops have different lighting needs. This will allow you to precisely adapt the lighting cycle according to the specific requirements of each species, thereby optimizing their development. This flexibility is particularly useful when plants require distinct photoperiods.
Can a single timer with different time settings be used to run 2 HLG 600 B-Spec in parallel on distinct cycles without risk of interference between the two panels?
It is entirely possible to use a single timer to control two HLG 600 B-Spec panels in parallel on distinct time cycles, provided that this timer has multiple independent outputs and can support the combined power of the two devices (up to 1200 W). The HLG 600 B-Spec, designed for a wide voltage range and without the need for specific synchronization, do not generate problematic electromagnetic interference when operating on different cycles. Just make sure to check the electrical compatibility and the timer's ability to handle separate programming without signal mixing.
Is it possible to use a single timer with this HLG 600 BSpec panel to manage two different growth cycles in parallel, or is a separate timer required for each crop to optimize plant performance?
The HLG 600 BSpec panel operates with a built-in power supply and is controlled via a timer that acts on its power source.
To manage two different growth cycles in parallel (for example, two distinct phases or crops), each panel must be able to be turned on independently. A simple timer with one output does not allow programming two different schedules simultaneously.
However, if you use a multiple timer or a programmable timer system with multiple independent outputs, you can easily manage two distinct cycles on two HLG 600 BSpec panels.
The best solution to optimize the performance of your plants remains to opt for a separate timer per crop, which ensures precise control tailored to the specific needs of each cycle.
Possible integration with home automation system for remote management of the dimmer and real-time energy consumption monitoring
The HLG 600 BSpec has a built-in manual dimmer to locally adjust the light intensity, but it does not offer native home automation connectivity or remote dimmer control via an app or automated system.
Regarding energy consumption monitoring, this model also does not include a feature for real-time data reporting via a connected interface.
For advanced home automation management, external compatible modules would need to be considered, although this is not provided by default for this product.
Does the HLG 600 BSpec better suit a SCROG or LST installation under LED to optimize light penetration during growth, and what intensity do you recommend based on the technique used?
The HLG 600 BSpec is perfectly suited for SCROG and LST setups, thanks to its rich blue spectrum and strong light penetration ideal for the growth phase.
For SCROG, it promotes uniform coverage and dense growth. It is recommended to start with around 60 to 80% of the maximum power, then adjust according to the plants' response.
In LST, the well-distributed light supports balanced branch growth. An intensity of 50 to 70% of the maximum power will help avoid stress while stimulating growth.
Don't forget to hang the panel between 30 and 40 inches above the foliage to optimize penetration.
What is the average temperature emitted by the HLG 600 BSpec panel during continuous operation at 600W, and is it necessary to plan for an additional ventilation system to limit heat in a 180x180 cm grow room?
The HLG 600 BSpec panel emits limited heat thanks to LED technology, much less than traditional HID lighting. During continuous operation at 600W, the temperature on its surface remains moderate, but in a 180x180 cm grow room, heat and humidity accumulation can quickly become problematic.
It is therefore advisable to plan for an effective ventilation system to renew the air and maintain a stable environment. Using the dimmable feature of the panel can also help limit heat by adjusting power according to the plants' needs.
Finally, regular monitoring of the ambient temperature via a thermostat is a good complement to ensure optimal growing conditions.

Timer separate or same timer possible for two HLG 600 BSpec panels installed together to synchronize or alternate light cycles without having to buy a dimmer for each panel
To synchronize or alternate the light cycles of two HLG 600 BSpec panels without buying a dimmer for each panel, you can use a programmable timer with multiple independent outputs. A simple timer does not allow managing two different schedules simultaneously, but a multiple timer system will let you control each panel separately, according to your needs.
This offers an efficient solution for managing alternating or synchronized light cycles without additional complications.
Does the white spectrum associated with the blue 470nm LEDs of the HLG 600 Bspec suffice to optimize LST during the growth phase under LED?
The HLG 600 BSpec combines a white spectrum based on Samsung LM301H LEDs and 470nm blue LEDs, providing light that is very suitable for vegetative growth. This combination effectively stimulates leaf development and branching, which are key elements during Low-Stress Training (LST).
With an adjustable power from 60 to 600 watts and uniform distribution, this panel ensures good penetration and uniform light distribution, essential to avoid shadow areas and promote balanced growth during LST.
In summary, this spectrum is more than sufficient to optimize LST during the growth phase, provided that the intensity and positioning of the lighting are adjusted correctly according to your growing space.
What is the optimal cultivation area for a micro space of less than 1m² with the HLG 600 BSpec panel?
The HLG 600 BSpec panel is ideal for a surface area of about 1.8 m x 1.8 m during the growth phase, much larger than your micro space of less than 1 m². For such a volume, you need to lower the height to 0.5-0.75 m and reduce the power via the dimming function to avoid excess light that could stress your plants.
However, this panel remains powerful enough for a micro space, so the intensity must be managed carefully. For fully optimized cultivation in less than 1 m², a more compact LED would often be more suitable and easier to handle.
What type of dimmer do you recommend to precisely control the power between 60 and 600 watts on this HLG 600 BSpec?
The HLG 600 BSpec features a manual power dimmer that allows for precise adjustment of the lighting between 60 and 600 watts. This integrated system is designed to provide optimal control without needing an external dimmer. However, if you are interested in additional control, be sure to choose a dimmer that is compatible with the power and voltage of the HLG 600 BSpec, but in the vast majority of cases, the built-in adjustment is perfectly sufficient to tailor the light intensity to your needs.
What is the average lifespan of Samsung LM301H LEDs used in this HLG 600 BSpec panel and what impact does this have on lighting performance over time?
The Samsung LM301H LEDs used in the HLG 600 BSpec panel have an estimated average lifespan of 50,000 to 100,000 hours, depending on usage conditions. This longevity is a benchmark in the field of high-quality horticultural LEDs.
Over time, a natural phenomenon of light degradation leads to a gradual decrease in light intensity and therefore in photosynthetic yield. However, the robust design of these LEDs, combined with the passive thermal dissipation system of the HLG 600 BSpec, limits this decline, thus preserving stable performance for a longer time.
In summary, these LEDs offer an excellent balance between durability and light efficiency, ensuring powerful and reliable lighting for your indoor crops.
How can I integrate and automate the control of the non-supplied dimmer to adjust the power of the HLG 600 BSpec lamp in a home automation system?
The HLG 600 BSpec features a traditional manual dimmer (potentiometer) to adjust the power from 60 to 600 watts, but does not have a native home automation interface or an API for automated control.
To automate dimming via a home automation system, first check if the integrated Inventronics driver accepts external control via 0-10V or PWM. If it does, you can connect a compatible home automation module (for example Shelly PWM) to control the power from your usual home automation interface.
If the driver does not offer this option, there are two possibilities:
- Replace the driver with a model that supports external control, ensuring electrical compatibility.
- Use a servo motor controlled by an electronic board (Arduino, Raspberry Pi...) to mechanically adjust the potentiometer, a more complex and less reliable solution.
In summary, automation is only feasible if your driver supports 0-10V or PWM control. Thus, checking the driver’s datasheet is essential before installation.
Is the HLG 600 BSpec easy to adjust in power without the dimmer and does the lamp get very hot during long growth sessions?
The HLG 600 BSpec is specially designed to be adjustable in power via a dimmer integrated into the product. Without this dimmer or a compatible external control, it is not possible to adjust the power, which remains at its maximum of 600 watts.
Regarding heating, even though this LED panel emits heat during long growth sessions (which is normal for a lamp of this power), it benefits from very good thermal dissipation thanks to its Quantum Boards equipped with Samsung LM301H LEDs and a powerful driver. With adequate ventilation and a recommended installation height (70-90 cm above the plants), this heat is well managed and does not pose a major problem.
In summary, to easily modulate the power, it is better to use the supplied dimmer. And to manage the heat, a careful installation with good air circulation is essential.
What advice for optimizing the use of the LED horticultural panel HLG 600 BSpec in a room with several varieties with different light requirements, particularly regarding dimmer adjustment and positioning for ideal light penetration?
To optimize the use of the HLG 600 BSpec in a room with several varieties with different light requirements, it is essential to master the dimmer adjustment and positioning of the panel.
