CYCLONE Carbon Filter Refill – Replacement Cartridge
Australian RC412 Activated Carbon • Grade 1200+ • 5-Stage Filtration • 100/125/150 mm

The CYCLONE cartridge refill renews the filtration capacity of your CYCLONE extractor without replacing the complete unit. A few minutes are enough to restore optimal odour control in your growing space: grow room, tent, greenhouse or technical room.

The right habit: a fresh cartridge at the right time, and your extractor recovers 100% of its filtration efficiency.

Filter material: Australian RC412 activated carbon
Carbon grade: 1200+
Filtration: 5 stages
Compatibility: CYCLONE extractors 100/125/150 mm
Structure: corrosion-resistant iron mesh + ABS
Moisture protection: IP44
Indicative lifespan: 2 to 3 months
Configuration: exhaust or intake
Power supply: none required

Why replace the cartridge rather than the unit?

Activated carbon gradually becomes saturated over the cycles: that is normal, and it is precisely why the CYCLONE cartridge is replaceable. Instead of changing the whole system, you only replace the filtering element — a more economical, simpler and more sustainable solution.

5-stage filtration

The cartridge combines five layers that work together to protect the carbon bed, distribute the airflow and retain particles and odours:

  1. Outer mesh: provides structural strength and a uniform air inlet.
  2. Outer pre-filter: keeps dust and particles from reaching the carbon directly.
  3. Activated carbon bed: adsorbs odours and certain gaseous compounds present in the air.
  4. Inner pre-filter: protects the filter bed and retains small carbon particles.
  5. Inner mesh: maintains the cartridge structure and ensures a balanced air outlet.

Australian RC412 activated carbon – grade 1200+

The filter material is Australian RC412 activated carbon with a declared adsorption grade of 1200+. Its porous structure offers a very large contact surface with the air, favouring the capture of the molecules responsible for intense odours.

On the 100 mm version, the carbon bed is approximately 3.8 cm thick: a studied balance between high adsorption capacity and smooth airflow.

Built for humid environments

The cartridge combines a corrosion-resistant iron mesh with ABS components: a construction designed for the usual conditions of grow rooms and greenhouses, where ambient humidity can be high. The manufacturer declares IP44 protection against moisture.

The cartridge rings are covered with a foam protection that dampens impacts, improves the fit inside the unit and protects the ends.

Exhaust or intake: reversible use

The cartridge works both in exhaust configurations (filtering the air before expelling it out of the space) and in intake configurations (cleaning the air entering the installation). Its structure favours a balanced airflow across the entire filtering surface.

When to replace the cartridge?

The indicative lifespan is 2 to 3 months. The actual lifespan depends on the intensity and nature of the odours, the airflow, the operating hours, the ambient humidity and the amount of dust in the installation.

  • Odours persisting at the air outlet
  • Loss of filtration efficiency
  • Excessive airflow reduction
  • Clogged or damaged pre-filters
  • Significant dirt build-up

Recommended maintenance

The manual recommends removing the cartridge approximately every 3 months and placing it in direct sunlight for about 10 hours as preventive maintenance. Also remember to remove dust from the ducts regularly to avoid obstructions, and to check that all fixings remain properly tightened.

Good to know: sun exposure helps maintain the cartridge, but it does not fully regenerate saturated carbon — it is no substitute for the periodic replacement of the refill.

Installation in 8 steps

  1. Switch off the extractor and disconnect it from the power supply.
  2. Open the filter compartment following the mounting system of your CYCLONE unit.
  3. Remove the used cartridge, avoiding dispersing the accumulated dust.
  4. Clean the inside of the compartment and remove any residue.
  5. Insert the new cartridge, respecting the corresponding position and diameter.
  6. Check that the foam rings sit correctly and that the assembly is firmly held.
  7. Close the unit completely before reconnecting it.
  8. Run a test: check the airflow and the absence of abnormal vibrations or noises.

GrowLED tip:
Replace the cartridge at the start of each new cycle: it is the best way to enter flowering with odour filtration at full capacity. And before purchasing, check the diameter and exact model of your CYCLONE extractor.
