Your questions about this product
- Is the dimmer compatible with the SANlight Q6W 245W sold separately or included in a pack with the power cable? The magnetic dimmer compatible with the SANlight Q6W 245W is sold separately and is not included with the power cable nor in any pack. You can find this dimmer as well as the power cable for the SANlight Q2 series on our website. Each lamp requires a single dimmer, which allows power adjustment on four distinct levels.
- What is the exact value of the photon yield in µmol/joule for the SANlight Q6W 245W and its luminous efficiency on the surface covering 1m²?
The SANlight Q6W 245W Gen 2.1 displays a photon yield of 2.54 µmol/J, which is a very solid performance for horticultural lighting. In terms of light flux, it produces about 624 µmol/s of PAR light with a power consumption of 245W.
Regarding luminous efficiency on 1 m², it all depends on the setup and installation distance. While the precise distribution is not specified, this lamp is designed to provide excellent coverage and uniform light suitable for intensive growth under horticultural LEDs.
This lamp is ideal for efficient and economical lighting over an area of about 1 m², optimizing the growth of your plants with high photon efficiency.
- What is the best strategy to differently manage the light intensity of the Sanlight Q6W between the growth phase and the flowering phase in order to optimize productivity and quality of the harvests in an area of about 1m²?
To optimize growth and flowering with the Sanlight Q6W (245W) in 1m², it is essential to adjust the light intensity using its 100% dimmable function:
Growth phase: reduce the intensity to about 50-70% to avoid stress on young plants and promote healthy development. Maintain a photoperiod of 16 to 18 hours for effective photosynthesis.
Flowering phase: gradually increase the intensity to 80-100% to maximize the production of flowers and fruits. The lighting duration can then be reduced to about 12 hours, depending on the specific needs of the plant.
This balanced approach ensures homogeneous, concentrated, and adapted light, optimizing the productivity and quality of your harvests while preserving plant health.
- What lighting power or number of Sanlight Q6W 245W modules is needed to optimize a 1m² growing area while maintaining an ideal temperature in a greenhouse or indoors?
For a growing area of 1 m², a single Sanlight Q6W 245W module is ideal. This powerful LED panel consumes 245W while providing approximately 624 µmol/s of luminous flux at a 90° angle, ensuring homogeneous and intense light for your plants.
The integrated passive cooling system ensures optimal thermal management, preventing overheating and maintaining an ideal temperature indoors or in a greenhouse. This allows you to benefit from efficient lighting without the need for additional cooling equipment.
In summary, a single Q6W 245W is sufficient to effectively cover 1 m² while controlling the temperature and optimizing the growth of your crops.
- What is the optimal maximum cultivation area that I can cover with a single Sanlight Q6W 245W and how many lamps should I plan for a 200 x 200 cm area? The Sanlight Q6W 245W ideally covers an area of approximately 100 x 100 cm. For your 200 x 200 cm space, you will therefore need to plan for 4 lamps to ensure uniform and efficient lighting across the entire area.
- What type of power cable is recommended for the SANlight Q6W 245W and where can I obtain it to optimize connectivity and safety in a micro space?
For your SANlight Q6W 245W, the recommended power cable is of type AWG 16, black PVC with a length of 2 meters. This cable ensures optimal connectivity while guaranteeing the essential safety in a restricted space.
Make sure the cable is compatible with the voltage of your installation (100VAC-240VAC, 50/60Hz) and use a type B 230V circuit breaker to enhance electrical safety. Also, avoid overloading the circuit, as the Q6W consumes 245 watts.

- What is the actual luminous power per square meter of the Sanlight Q6W 245W for a growing area of 60x60cm in micro-culture?
For a growing area of 60 × 60 cm in micro-culture, the Sanlight Q6W 245W delivers an estimated actual luminous power (PPFD) of about 800 µmol/m²/s at the center of the area. This value greatly exceeds the average calculated over 1 m² (approximately 624 µmol/m²/s), thanks to a homogeneous and concentrated light distribution.
This intensity is particularly suitable for healthy and vigorous growth of your plants under horticultural LED in a limited space. Feel free to adjust the installation height to optimize this light flow according to your specific needs.
- What about reliability over time? Do OSRAM LEDs really last the announced 100,000 hours, and does the passive heatsink effectively prevent overheating over multiple growing seasons?
The Sanlight Q6W 245W uses 2mm² Osram LEDs, recognized for their robustness and longevity. These LEDs are claimed to last up to 100,000 hours while retaining about 90% of their power, thus ensuring stable performance over multiple growing seasons.
The heatsink is passive, without a fan, ensuring silent dissipation and limiting dust ingress. It is designed to maintain an optimal temperature, thereby preventing any overheating that could affect the lifespan of the LEDs.
With a 3-year manufacturer's warranty and a design focused on durability, this model combines reliability and long-term performance. To maximize this longevity, it is advisable to ensure good ventilation and cleanliness of the connections.
- What is the precise value in µmol/J of this Sanlight Q6W 245W 825mm and what is its yield in grams per watt in a 100x100cm indoor greenhouse cultivation? The Sanlight Q6W 245W (825 mm) delivers a PAR flux of about 624 µmol/s with a photon efficiency of 2.54 µmol/J. Over a theoretical period of 24 hours, this corresponds to nearly 54 million µmol/day, although actual cycles are typically 12 to 18 hours long.
For a 100x100 cm area in indoor or greenhouse cultivation, this panel offers an estimated plant yield of between 1.0 and 1.5 grams per watt. With its 245 W, this translates to an approximate production of 245 to 370 grams under optimized conditions.
This model is thus perfectly suited for effective cultivation on 1 m², combining high light performance and good cultivation yield.
- What is the actual consumption in kWh for 1m2 with the SANlight Q6W 245W and what is the PPF/W efficiency under these conditions?
The Sanlight Q6W 245W consumes approximately 0.245 kWh per hour to effectively cover an area of about 1 m². For example, for 12 hours of daily lighting, this corresponds to a consumption of 2.94 kWh per day.
Its PPF/W efficiency is approximately 2.7 µmol/Joule (or 2.7 µmol/s per watt consumed), with a total photosynthetic flux of 624 µmol/s. This is an outstanding performance that ensures excellent light efficiency for your indoor or greenhouse crops.
- What is the reality of heat reduction in a small space with this passive cooling system without sacrificing natural ventilation?
The Sanlight Q6W 245W uses a passive cooling system through an aluminum heat sink, without fans or active mechanisms. This design ensures efficient thermal management, limiting heat buildup in a small space while maintaining a stable temperature.
This system helps prevent overheating without compromising natural ventilation, as it does not generate artificial air circulation. Thus, the ventilation remains intact, a key advantage for maintaining a healthy and optimal environment for your indoor plants.
For an area of about 1 m², a single module is sufficient to ensure both good light diffusion and effective thermal control. In larger areas, using multiple modules can promote an even distribution of heat and light.
In summary, this passive cooling offers real control of heat in small spaces without sacrificing the natural ventilation essential for the proper development of crops.
