How to choose a TerraLED LED lamp for my plants?

To choose your TerraLED lamp, I advise you to start by evaluating the cultivation area you wish to illuminate. Then, consider the type of plants you are growing and their stage of development (growth or flowering). The TerraLED range offers solutions adapted to every need, with specific spectra to optimize each phase. I also recommend taking into account your budget and additional features like dimmability.

What is the difference between TerraLED growth and flowering spectrum?

That's an excellent question! In practice, a TerraLED growth spectrum is generally richer in blue, which promotes vegetative development, the production of robust leaves and stems. Conversely, a flowering spectrum is enriched in red, essential for stimulating flowering and fruiting. Some TerraLED models offer adjustable spectra or specific modules for each phase, which is very practical for versatile cultivation.

What is TerraLED LED lighting used for in plants?

TerraLED LED lighting is fundamental for the photosynthesis of your plants, a vital process where they convert light into energy. Indoors, it replaces natural sunlight, allowing for healthy growth and abundant flowering. What I often see is that TerraLED LEDs, thanks to their optimized spectra, not only support growth but also improve the color rendition of your plants, which is an aesthetic plus.

What TerraLED wattage should I choose for my indoor grow?

The ideal wattage of your TerraLED lamp depends directly on the surface area of your grow space and the light requirements of your plants. Generally, for a small area (around 60x60 cm), a real wattage of 100 to 150W may be sufficient. For larger areas, this wattage will need to be increased. I advise you to always refer to the manufacturer's specifications for each TerraLED model, as luminous efficacy can vary. Remember that the goal is to achieve sufficient PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) for your crops.

How to install a TerraLED lamp for indoor cultivation?

Installing a TerraLED lamp is generally quite simple. I recommend hanging the lamp above your plants using the provided hooks, ensuring it is stable and level. Make sure you have an electrical outlet nearby and a timer to manage the lighting cycles. It is crucial to respect the recommended distance between the lamp and the canopy, which I will detail in another question, to avoid light stress or lack of intensity.

Which TerraLED product to choose for horticulture beginners?

For beginners, I often advise starting with a plug-and-play TerraLED model, easy to install and use. Look for lamps with a "full cycle" or "growth/flowering" spectrum so you don't have to change lamps between phases. A model with moderate power, suitable for a small grow tent (for example, 60x60 cm), is an excellent starting point. The important thing is to familiarize yourself with the basics before moving on to more complex systems.

What distance between TerraLED lamp and plants?

The distance between your TerraLED lamp and your plants is crucial for their development. If the lamp is too close, you risk burning the leaves; too far, and your plants will lack light. In general, for young shoots and seedlings, I keep the lamp a little higher (around 40-60 cm), then I gradually lower it to 30-45 cm for vegetative growth and flowering. It is always best to refer to the manufacturer's specific recommendations for each TerraLED model, as the power and optics of the LEDs can vary.

How many hours should a TerraLED lamp be on per day?

The number of hours of TerraLED lighting per day depends on the life stage of your plants. For the vegetative growth phase, I generally recommend a cycle of 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness. For flowering, most plants require a cycle of 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness to stimulate flower production. It is essential to respect these cycles to avoid disrupting the biological rhythm of your plants and optimize their yield.

Is TerraLED suitable for orchids or monsteras?

Absolutely! The TerraLED range is very versatile and can be perfectly suitable for plants like orchids or monsteras. These plants have specific light needs, often less intense than high-yield crops. For orchids, I prefer indirect lighting or moderate intensity to avoid burning sensitive leaves. For monsteras, which appreciate bright but indirect light, a TerraLED with good diffusion and possibly a dimmer would be ideal. The goal is to best replicate their natural environment.
