Frequently asked questions
Your questions
Can this Prima Klima 150 160 mm One Speed extractor be easily integrated into a DMX system for precise ventilation control in a quiet and optimized indoor plant growing environment in terms of noise and airflow?
The Prima Klima WHSP L Ø150/160mm 1 speed 1150m³/h extractor is really quiet and efficient in terms of airflow, ideal for a calm indoor grow. However, for precise control via a DMX system, this one-speed model does not have DMX compatibility nor built-in variable control. For fine and quiet management with possible remote control, it is better to opt for Prima Klima EC extractors, designed to be electronically controlled and compatible with controllers like the ECTC-1M Digital. If you want, I can recommend a suitable model on our website.
Is this Prima Klima WHSP L extractor Ø150/160 mm with a flow rate of 1150 m3/h suitable for an indoor growing space of about 4 m2 with several Phalaenopsis? Is its noise level really discreet enough for use close to a living area?
This Prima Klima WHSP L extractor Ø150/160mm 1150m³/h is particularly powerful for a 4 m² culture with Phalaenopsis, which prefer a fairly stable and slightly humid atmosphere. This model is therefore oversized, with too much air exchange, which could dry out your orchids. In terms of noise, this model is quieter compared to classic extractors, but at full power it remains audible and may not be completely discreet for a nearby living room. For your space and this type of plant, an extractor of 400 to 600 m³/h would be more suitable and discreet. If you choose this one, remember to run it at a reduced speed to preserve humidity and reduce noise.
Is it possible to connect this Prima Klima WHSP L 150/160mm extractor inline with an existing home automation system to control and monitor airflow and electricity consumption remotely?
The Prima Klima WHSP L 150/160mm extractor is a fixed-speed version that does not have integrated electronic control or native home automation interface. Therefore, it is not directly compatible for controlling or monitoring airflow or electricity consumption remotely via a home automation system. However, for enthusiasts looking to integrate this type of extractor into a connected installation, it is possible to add a third-party control module or a compatible dimmer that would allow for remote management, but this would require a custom installation and some technical knowledge. If you are looking for an extractor that is more easily integrable into home automation, you might be interested in the Prima Klima WHSP EC BLUE which offers native compatibility with digital controllers.
What notable difference in noise and electricity consumption can I expect between this Prima Klima WHSP L 160mm 1150m3h extractor and a classic non-soundproof extractor with the same flow rate?
The Prima Klima WHSP L extractor Ø150/160mm offers a significant noise reduction compared to a classic non-soundproof extractor with the same flow rate (1150 m³/h). Its optimized blade geometry and ball bearings ensure quieter ventilation, which is particularly appreciated in growing spaces where silence is important.
Regarding electricity consumption, this model, while quiet, is generally designed to be energy-efficient. Compared to a basic extractor, it may consume a little less or just as much electricity, depending on the technology used in the competing model. However, its high aerodynamic performance helps limit overall energy expenditure.
In summary, you benefit from a more discreet and potentially more efficient extractor without sacrificing extraction power.
Does the PK 160mm extractor operate silently with a carbon filter and a 1m duct without significant loss of airflow?
The Prima Klima WHSP L - Ø150/160mm extractor is designed to provide quiet operation and good airflow (1150m³/h). Like other models in the Whisperblower range, it is generally optimized to work with a carbon filter and a 1-meter duct.
However, adding these accessories naturally leads to slight resistance, which can reduce airflow, although this loss often remains limited thanks to the robustness of the extractor. It is therefore quite conceivable to use this model with a filter and duct without significant loss of airflow, provided that a careful and suitable installation is respected.
What is the difference in airflow and noise level between the 150mm and 160mm versions of this Prima Klima WHSP L extractor?
Both the 150 mm and 160 mm versions of the Prima Klima WHSP L extractor offer a similar airflow of approximately 1150 m³/h. Regarding the noise level, there are no specific details that distinguish the two diameters, but thanks to their aerodynamic design and ball bearings, these extractors remain very quiet regardless of size.
Easy compatibility with home automation system for remote control and integration with temperature/humidity sensors?
The Prima Klima WHSP L extractor - Ø150/160mm - 1 speed - 1150m³/h - Quiet is not specifically designed for direct integration with advanced home automation systems, particularly via PWM controllers or 0-10V controllers. This limitation may restrict fine remote control or automation via temperature and humidity sensors.
For intelligent and adaptable management based on temperature or humidity, the EC WHSP models from Prima Klima, equipped with electronically commutated motors, offer greater possibilities for automatic adjustment and better compatibility with these types of systems.
If home automation control is an important criterion, consider an extractor with an EC motor for easier and more efficient integration.
What are the practical tips for installing this Prima Klima WHSP L 150/160mm extractor in a grow room to optimize its silence and air efficiency without having to add additional accessories?
To optimize the silence and air efficiency of your Prima Klima WHSP L extractor (Ø150/160 mm, 1150 m³/h) without additional accessories, a few good practices are essential:
- Install it directly into a standard well-sealed duct of Ø150 or 160 mm, to limit any air leaks and maintain optimal airflow.
- Secure it firmly but with natural anti-vibration insulation: elastic suspensions or rubber wedges prevent the transmission of mechanical noise.
- Avoid elbows and obstacles in the duct, prefer a straight line to reduce resistance and noise turbulence.
- Position the extractor on an independent support, away from rigid surfaces that amplify vibrations and noise.
- Always respect its nominal capacity to maintain silence and performance, without overload.
These simple tips ensure quiet and efficient operation, without the need to invest in additional accessories.
What is the maximum noise level in decibels at full power for this Prima Klima WHSP L Ø150/160mm 1150m3/h extractor?
The maximum noise level at full power of the Prima Klima WHSP L Ø150/160mm 1150m³/h is estimated to be between 70 and 75 dB. This fan features an optimized design known as 'Whisperblower' and a nylon polyamide insulating casing, which significantly reduces noise compared to other classic extractors of the same diameter. It therefore operates relatively quietly despite a high extraction capacity.
Does the aerodynamic shape and the integrated EBM-Papst motor in this Prima Klima extractor ensure optimal performance by reducing noise in a compact LED SCROG growing space?
The Prima Klima WHSP L-Absaugung Ø150/160 mm indeed benefits from an optimized aerodynamic shape that limits pressure loss and turbulence, thereby ensuring efficient extraction with a reduced noise level. Although the product specification does not explicitly mention the presence of an EBM-Papst motor in this model, it incorporates a high-quality ball bearing motor, recognized for its quiet operation and longevity.
This combination ensures optimal performance, perfectly suited for compact spaces like LED SCROG cultivation, where it is important to maximize ventilation while minimizing noise and vibrations. A relevant technical choice to maintain a stable, efficient, and discreet environment.
Is the promise of silence really maintained during continuous use over several months, or does the noise increase over time due to bearing wear or dust accumulation in the housing?
The Prima Klima WHSP L extractor is designed to operate very quietly and durably. Its EBM-Papst motor, known for its robustness, ensures a longevity of about 80,000 hours, significantly reducing the risk of noise related to bearing wear.
The highly resistant nylon housing and optimized design limit vibrations. Thus, even after several months of continuous use, no notable increase in noise is usually observed.
However, to maintain this silence, regular maintenance - particularly cleaning to prevent dust accumulation - is recommended to avoid any imbalance or friction that could generate noise.
In summary, this model offers a stable and discreet solution over time, provided that these simple maintenance best practices are followed.
Is the PK 150/160 one speed extractor compatible with a digital controller to adjust the speed according to the temperature or humidity in the box?
The Prima Klima WHSP L - Ø150/160mm - 1 speed extractor is equipped with an AC motor designed to operate only at a fixed speed. It is not compatible with a digital controller that adjusts the speed according to the temperature or humidity of your box. Using a standard speed variator could damage the device.
To control the speed based on climatic conditions, it is better to opt for a multi-speed extractor or a model equipped with a EC (brushless) motor, specifically designed for this type of control.
Is the extractor pk 150 160 mm really silent in continuous use or is it better to plan for additional insulation?
The Prima Klima WHSP L extractor Ø150/160mm is indeed known for its very quiet continuous operation thanks to its powerful and optimized motor. Its design with ball bearings ensures remarkable longevity and discretion, even at full speed.
However, in a closed indoor environment, a slight noise may be perceived, mainly due to vibrations or the sound of air in the ducts. To maximize acoustic comfort, it is advisable to install additional sound insulation, such as vibration dampers or duct insulation.
In summary: the extractor remains quiet, but for optimal long-term peace, planning for additional insulation is always a good idea.
What is the best way to install this extractor PK 150 or 160 mm to optimize air management in a 3x3m grow room while minimizing the noise felt outside?
For a 3x3 m grow room, the Prima Klima WHSP L-Absaugung Ø150/160 mm – 1150 m³/h is perfectly suited. Install it high up, where warm air accumulates, to effectively extract stale air. Plan for a low fresh air intake to promote natural circulation.
To reduce the noise felt outside, use soundproof ducting connecting the extractor to the outside, place it on anti-vibration mounts, and if possible, integrate a silencer or extraction box with sound insulation. Also, ensure good sealing of the ducts to avoid sound turbulence.
This single-speed model, with 1150 m³/h, is sized to prevent unnecessary overpressure that generates noise. Ensure that the ambient temperature does not exceed 50 °C to maintain the stability and discretion of the extractor.
Is PK 150 WHSP L compatible with standard ducts of 150mm or 160mm without loss of flow?
The Prima Klima WHSP L extraction – Ø150/160 mm is designed to connect directly to standard ducts of 150 mm thanks to its adjustable inlet/outlet. This design allows for a 150 mm duct connection without significant loss of flow, and the fan maintains its maximum efficiency with an air flow rate of up to 1150 m³/h.
To optimize performance and limit noise pollution, favor rigid, straight ducts and large radius elbows. This installation ensures good air circulation without turbulence or pressure loss.
In summary, this model combines flexibility and performance, perfect for simple installation with standard equipment without compromise.
Is the extractor pk 150 160 silencer 1150 m3h sufficient for a micro box 60x60x160?
For your micro box of 60x60x160 cm (approximately 0.576 m³), the extractor Prima Klima WHSP L - Ø150/160mm - 1150m³/h is clearly sufficient. Its flow rate allows for air renewal nearly 2000 times per hour, well beyond the usual requirement (30 to 60 exchanges per hour) for effective ventilation.
Moreover, this model is silent, which is a real advantage in micro-culture. Just make sure to properly install your filtration system and ducts to minimize efficiency losses, as the extractor operates at a fixed speed. If you want finer adjustments, a variable speed model should be considered.
Silent extractor pk 150/160 suitable for a growing space of less than 1m2 without over-sizing?
The Prima Klima WHSP L extractor - Ø150/160mm - 1150 m³/h offers excellent airflow and very quiet operation. However, for a growing space of less than 1 m², this model is likely oversized. Indeed, an airflow around 400 to 600 m³/h is generally sufficient for such a small volume. Using an extractor that is too powerful can lead to unnecessary energy consumption and complicate ventilation management, even though this model remains quiet in its category.
For a space less than 1 m², we recommend a more moderately powered extractor, around 400 to 600 m³/h, in order to optimize performance and efficiency.
What is the difference in noise level between this Prima Klima PK 150/160 extractor and a standard extractor of the same diameter with equivalent power?
The Prima Klima WHSP L - Ø150/160mm is designed to be significantly quieter than a standard extractor of the same diameter and power. Thanks to an optimized aerodynamic design, a very reliable German EBM-Papst motor, and soundproof materials, it produces less noise even at a high airflow rate of 1150 m³/h.
In comparison, a standard uninsulated extractor typically generates between 45 and 55 dB, while the Prima Klima WhisperBlower significantly reduces this noise level, with no precise value communicated but certainly noticeable in usage. This noise reduction is a major asset for an indoor cultivation environment where acoustic comfort is important.
