Frequently asked questions
Your questions
Is the 1x40W transformer compatible only with Cosmorrow LED bars or can I use it with other similar LED bar models?
The 1x40W transformer for Cosmorrow LED bars is specifically designed for these bars. Its use with other similar LED bar models is not guaranteed nor recommended, because the voltages, powers, and connectors must perfectly match to ensure safe and optimal operation.
What is the electrical efficiency in W to output for each model (1x40W and 2x40W) of this Cosmorrow power supply? Optimizing the efficiency would help me better calculate the consumption and thermal management of the system.
Regarding the Cosmorrow 40W power supply (1x40W or 2x40W) from Secret Jardin, there is no official information available about the precise electrical efficiency (W consumed vs. W delivered) in our database.
Generally, modern LED horticultural power supplies have an efficiency often around 85 to 90% depending on quality and load, which allows estimating consumption and thermal management. For example, for a 40W model, one could expect an input consumption of about 44-47W, and for 2x40W, around 88-94W in total.
For optimal management, consider measuring the actual consumption if possible or use an estimated efficiency in your calculations. This also helps anticipate generated heat.
Cosmorrow 40W Power Supply Secret JardinA transformer that stands the test of time is no small feat. Which one between the 1x40W and the 2x40W offers the best long-term stability? And what about thermal management? Do these units get hot during continuous use? Finally, the mounting brackets: are they sturdy and suitable for secure installation without additional DIY effort?
The power supplies for Cosmorrow 40W LED bars, whether 1x40W or 2x40W, are designed to ensure reliable stability thanks to their robust construction and waterproof connections (IP65/56). There is no notable documented difference in long-term stability between the two models.
Regarding thermal management, these power supplies function perfectly within a range of 0°C to 40°C, demonstrating good heat management. There is no indication that they become excessively hot during continuous use, which is reassuring for indoor cultivation.
Finally, the mounting brackets are sturdy, modular, and perfectly suited for secure and easy installation without the need for additional DIY efforts. They ensure reliable installation for a worry-free experience.
What is the maximum cable length compatible with this power supply to ensure stable power supply for the Cosmorrow 40W LED bar from Secret Jardin?
To ensure a stable power supply for the Cosmorrow 40W LED bar from Secret Jardin, it is recommended not to exceed the cable length provided in the kit, which is about 1.80 m between the power supply and the bar. Longer cables may lead to voltage drops and affect performance. For longer distances, it is better to use a cable with a larger cross-section to limit these losses, but without exceeding a total of 2 meters to ensure optimal stability.
Can this power supply be used to power two Cosmorrow 40W LED bars in parallel with a single timer, or is a separate timer required for each bar?
To power two Cosmorrow 40W LED bars in parallel with a single timer, it is necessary to use a power supply specifically designed for two bars, such as the Cosmorrow 2x40W model. This power supply allows you to connect and control both bars simultaneously via a single timer.
Using two separate 1x40W power supplies would require two separate timers, one for each power supply. Choosing the appropriate power supply ensures a safe and convenient installation without additional complexity.

- 2x40W Power Supply: equipped with two independent 40W outputs, it allows for simultaneous powering of two Cosmorrow 40W LED bars, ideal for doubling the lighting area.
In terms of energy efficiency, no documented difference is available between these two models. The choice therefore mainly depends on the number of bars to be powered.
What is the specific output in volts and amperes of this power supply for the Cosmorrow 40W LED bar?
The power supply for the Cosmorrow 40W LED bar from Secret Jardin delivers a specific output of 24 volts and 1.67 amperes. This configuration ensures a stable power of 40W, perfectly suited for the LED bar.
What is the autonomy of the 40W Cosmorrow Secret Jardin power supply in continuous use, and is there a protection system against overheating or short circuits?
The 40W power supply for the Cosmorrow LED bar by Secret Jardin is designed for continuous use, with an estimated LED lifespan of approximately 20,000 hours, which translates to several years under normal usage (12 to 18 hours per day).
It has an IP65 protection rating, ensuring excellent resistance to dust and water, thus limiting the risk of overheating. Additionally, the dedicated 24V power supply incorporates overheat, overload, and short circuit protections, providing optimal safety for your installation.
What is the maximum cable length between the 1x40W power supply and the Cosmorrow 40W LED bar without significant power loss?
For the Cosmorrow 40W LED bar with its dedicated 1x40W power supply, it is recommended not to exceed a cable length of approximately 5 meters without significant power loss, using a cable with a cross-sectional area between 0.75 mm² and 1.5 mm². This distance helps to limit voltage drop to a level below 3-5%, thus ensuring full luminous efficiency and longevity of the LED bar.
Beyond this length, it is advisable to increase the cable cross-section to reduce resistance and maintain power quality. This precaution ensures stable performance indoors, even in humid environments due to the IP65/56 protection of the system.
Is it possible to connect multiple 40W power supplies in series to power more than two Cosmorrow LED bars without loss of power or risk of overheating?
It is not recommended to connect multiple 40W power supplies for Cosmorrow LED bars in series. Each power supply is specifically designed for a single bar, delivering 24V and 1.67A, and connecting them in series may lead to voltage incompatibilities, power losses, and a risk of overheating.
To power multiple bars, prefer a power supply suitable for the total power, such as a 2x40W power supply, or use several distinct 40W power supplies, each with its own control. This ensures stable power, good thermal management, and protects your equipment.
Does the 2x40W power supply support continuous use for several weeks without overheating or cutting out?
The 2x40W power supply for the Cosmorrow 40W LED bar is designed for reliable and stable long-term operation. Its robust construction, waterproof connections, and effective thermal management allow it to support continuous use for several weeks without overheating or cutting out, provided that it remains within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to 40°C.
