How to use it

Repot carefully, distributing the mix around the roots without compacting it. Adapt watering and feeding to the species, its growth cycle and the limited volume of the pot.

A suitable growing medium does not turn an outdoor tree into a houseplant. Choose its light exposure and location according to the species. The source excludes use in terrariums housing animals.

Related choices

• Fine pumice 4–8 mm: a component for adjusting a recipe to the needs of the tree.
• Worm castings: an organic amendment worth considering for substrate nutrition.

Frequently asked questions

For both deciduous trees and conifers?

This recipe is presented for both groups. Watering needs and growing conditions remain specific to each tree.

Does the mix eliminate the need for fertiliser?

No. The small volume of a bonsai pot requires nutritional monitoring; adjust feeding to the species and growing season.
