Frequently asked questions
Your questions
Is the Q-Max EC Extractor suitable for a small family greenhouse or is it mainly designed for large growing rooms?
The soundproofed Q-Max EC extractor is a high-end equipment mainly designed for large growing rooms where a large air extraction capacity is required. However, it can also be used for a small family greenhouse, provided you choose the correct model. There are several models of Q-Max EC with air flows ranging from 716 m³/h to 2850 m³/h. If you have a small family greenhouse, the 716 m³/h model may be appropriate, although usually, this capacity would be a bit oversized for family use. Realize that it is better to choose a device that matches your growing space as precisely as possible, as an underused device can consume unnecessary electricity and reduce the equipment's lifespan. If you are interested in a solution more suited to a family greenhouse, more compact extractor models with lower flow rates could be an excellent alternative as well. Be aware that our team at GrowLED.fr is always available to help you choose the equipment best suited to your needs. Do not hesitate to contact us for a personalized recommendation based on the size of your greenhouse and your specific needs.
Is the indicated maximum noise level really perceived as silent in real usage conditions, especially for models with high airflow rates like the 355 4800 m3/h? I wonder if it is compatible with discreet home growing.
The Q-Max EC Soundproof Extractor model is designed to provide both effective and relatively quiet ventilation thanks to its soundproof casing and acoustic absorbing foam. For a high airflow rate like the 355 at 4800 m³/h, the noise level is generally around 65-68 dB, which is quite low compared to other extractors of this capacity. However, for truly discreet home growing, this noise can be noticeable depending on the insulation and layout of your room. Many users appreciate its quietness especially with speed control which allows adjustment according to needs, helping to reduce noise below the maximum. In summary, this model is a very good compromise between performance and quietness, but for total discretion, good sound insulation of the grow area is necessary.
Is integration possible with voice assistant for remote control of the Can Fan EC LCD controller or is a third-party interface required to automate the temperature and speed regulation of the Q Max EC extractor?
The Q-Max EC Schallschutzabzug from Can-Fan is controlled via a dedicated Can Fan EC LCD controller, which autonomously manages speed and temperature. There is no direct native integration with voice assistants (Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit).
For remote control or automation via voice command, a third-party home automation interface is required. This gateway or IoT system serves as a bridge between the Can Fan EC controller and your voice assistant, allowing you to adjust speed or settings from your scenarios or voice commands.
In summary, the Q-Max EC provides effective local regulation, but for voice remote control, a compatible module must be connected between the controller and your home automation system.
Does the indicated noise level remain stable after several months of intensive use in real conditions, or does the silencer lose efficiency over time?
The noise level of the Silent Extractor Q-Max EC is designed to remain low due to its integrated silencer lined with acoustic foam. However, like any ventilation system, intensive use over several months can lead to a buildup of dust and wear, which may slightly increase the noise.
