Frequently asked questions
Your questions
Is the Quantum MAX 150W full spectrum lamp suitable for making my Phalaenopsis bloom again indoors? I want to know if the full spectrum and 150W power will be enough to stimulate the flowering of my orchids in a limited space of about 60cm by 60cm. Also, is it recommended to use the dimmer to adjust the light intensity during the different growth phases of my sensitive plants?
The Quantum MAX 150W Full Spectrum lamp is perfectly suited for your 60x60cm space to make your Phalaenopsis bloom again. Its full spectrum provides a balanced light ideal for orchid flowering. With 150W power, it delivers sufficient strength, but be sure to adjust the distance so as not to saturate your sensitive plants.
Using a dimmer is recommended to adapt the light intensity according to growth phases, which helps protect your orchids while optimizing their development.

What is the light yield in µmol/J as well as the measured PPFD curve for the Quantum MAX 150W over an area of 60x60cm, and what is the adjustment range of the integrated dimmer to optimize consumption according to the growth and flowering phases?
For the Quantum MAX 150W - Full Spectrum, no exact light yield in µmol/J is officially communicated. It can be estimated, within the usual range of high-end horticultural LEDs, to yield around 2.0 to 2.5 µmol/J approximately. Regarding the PPFD curve over 60x60 cm, no precise data or graph is available. In practice, for this power and surface area, one can expect average values around 400 to 600 µmol/m²/s at the center, with a slight decrease towards the edges, but this remains an estimate. The integrated dimmer allows adjusting the light power according to the growth phases, specifically to limit consumption during growth and maximize intensity during flowering. The adjustment range is not officially quantified, but it is possible to gradually modulate the power between a low intensity and the full power of 150W.
Does the integrated dimmability of the Quantum MAX 150W allow for precise adjustment between the growth and flowering phases, and does it really impact the overall electrical consumption on a complete crop?
The Quantum MAX 150W indeed has an integrated dimmability that allows for precise adjustment of light output between the growth and flowering phases. This means that during the growth phase, the light can be dimmed to match the lower needs of the plants, thus reducing electrical consumption. Then, during flowering, the power increases to promote optimal development.
This fine control results in more efficient energy management and a concrete reduction in overall consumption throughout the entire growing cycle while ensuring perfectly adapted lighting for each stage.
Should I use separate timers or a single timer to manage the lighting of two Quantum MAX 150W lamps in parallel in two separate boxes?
To manage the lighting of two Quantum MAX 150W lamps in two separate boxes, it is advisable to use a separate timer for each lamp. Each box can have a different lighting cycle depending on the plants being grown and their growth phase. A single timer would not allow for this flexibility of adjustment.
The lamp does not have an integrated system to manage multiple cycles through a single timer, so an individual timer for each lamp ensures precise and optimal control of light in each growing space.
