Ease the transition with VGN 2-2-4
The move from growth to flowering does not happen in a day. For two to three weeks the plant is still building and already flowering: cutting nitrogen too soon penalises it, holding it too long delays bloom. Atami's VGN 2-2-4 occupies exactly that middle ground.
Why a transition nutrient?
Many programmes switch abruptly from a growth feed to a bloom feed. The plant then absorbs two simultaneous changes: less nitrogen, far more PK. VGN 2-2-4 smooths that step with potassium already dominant but nitrogen still present.
- Potassium-led — 4% potassium commits the plant towards flowering.
- Nitrogen maintained — 2% nitrogen supports the frame still forming.

Its place in the VGN range
VGN reads as a progression: 5-2-2 for growth, 2-2-4 at balance, 1-4-4 for flowering, and VGN CalMag as a corrective throughout. The 2-2-4 is the central link, the one that makes the programme continuous rather than segmented.

Can it be used across the whole cycle?
Its balance makes it usable beyond the transition alone: some growers keep it through much of flowering, particularly on short-cycle varieties where the marked PK of the 1-4-4 would arrive too soon. It is a question of growing rhythm more than rule.
How to use VGN 2-2-4
Bring it in as the first flowers appear.
- Dosage — Follow the rate on the bottle.
- Phase — From late growth into early flowering, and possibly beyond.
- Before — Takes over from VGN 5-2-2, overlapping by a week.
- After — Gives way to VGN 1-4-4 once flowering settles in.
