Frequently asked questions

About Gavita — click a question to see the answer.

What Gavita LED lamp wattage should I choose for my indoor grow?

The ideal wattage depends directly on the surface area of your grow. As a general rule, for a one-square-meter space, I recommend an effective power of about 300 to 600 watts for optimal flowering, but this can vary depending on the plants. Gavita offers solutions of different wattages, and I invite you to carefully check the light coverage specified by the manufacturer for each model to ensure perfect uniformity. Too little power would harm yield, and excessive power could stress your plants.

What is the difference between Gavita LED lights and other brands?

What I often see with Gavita is their historical commitment to professional horticulture. Their major difference lies in the engineering and quality of their components, which are often superior, resulting in increased luminous efficacy and durability. I find that Gavita makes it a point of honor to offer very precise light spectra optimized for plant growth, the result of many years of research and development. It's an investment that is justified by performance and reliability.

What is the purpose of the Gavita LED light spectrum?

The light spectrum is absolutely crucial! At Gavita, the spectrum is designed to best mimic natural sunlight, but specifically targeting the wavelengths that plants use for photosynthesis. In practice, this means their LEDs provide the red and blue light necessary for vegetative growth and flowering, as well as other colors that influence morphology and the production of secondary compounds. A good spectrum, like Gavita's, allows you to optimize the development of your plants at each stage of their life cycle.

How to install a Gavita LED lamp for indoor cultivation?

Installing a Gavita LED lamp is generally quite simple, but there are a few key points. I always start by making sure the hanging point is solid and capable of supporting the weight of the fixture. Then, I suspend the lamp at the correct height above the canopy, using the provided or recommended hanging systems. Finally, I plug the fixture into a stable power source and check that the wiring is secure. I advise you to always follow the specific instruction manual for your Gavita model for optimal and safe installation.

What distance between a Gavita lamp and plants?

The distance between your Gavita lamp and your plants is a determining factor for their health and yield. In general, for Gavita LEDs, I recommend a distance of 30 to 60 cm, but this can vary considerably depending on the power of your model and the growth phase of the plants. During the vegetative phase, you can be a little closer, while in flowering, a slightly greater distance may be necessary to avoid light stress. Observing your plants is essential: if the leaves yellow or curl, the light may be too intense or too close.

Which Gavita product to choose for autoflowering?

For autoflowering, I prefer Gavita lighting that offers a full and constant spectrum, as these plants do not depend on a specific light cycle to flower. A model like Gavita LED bars or panels designed for a broad and balanced spectrum will be ideal. The important thing is to provide adequate light intensity throughout their short life cycle. I focus on efficiency and the ability to uniformly cover my grow area to maximize their potential.

What mistakes to avoid with Gavita LED lights?

With Gavita LED lights, the most common mistakes I see are poor distance management and a lack of light cycle adjustment. Not respecting the recommended distance can lead to light stress (too close) or lack of intensity (too far). It is also crucial not to neglect ventilation, because even if LEDs heat up less than other technologies, good air circulation is always beneficial. Finally, I advise you not to underestimate the importance of a good timer to maintain precise day/night cycles, even with high-quality LEDs like Gavita.
