How to choose an STBLED horticultural LED lamp?
To choose your STBLED lamp, I advise you to consider several key factors. First, think about the size of your growing space, as this will determine the area to be covered. Then, evaluate the type of plants you are growing and their specific light needs, especially whether you are in the growth or flowering phase. Finally, your budget will, of course, have a say, but I can assure you that the investment in an STBLED is quickly recouped through energy savings.
What wattage STBLED panel should I choose for my indoor grow?
The ideal wattage depends directly on the surface area of your grow tent. Generally, for indoor growing, I recommend about 300 to 600 watts per square meter for optimal flowering. However, with STBLED LEDs, the efficiency is such that you can often achieve excellent results with slightly less power than you would have used with older technologies. Feel free to consult the product sheets for specific recommendations for each model.
What is the difference between STBLED and HPS lamps?
The difference is major! HPS (High-Pressure Sodium) lamps generate a lot of heat, which can be a problem for climate control in your growing space and leads to high electricity consumption. STBLEDs, on the other hand, are much more energy-efficient, produce less heat, and offer an optimized light spectrum for plants, from germination to flowering. No more hefty bills and temperature problems!
What is the purpose of the full spectrum of STBLED panels?
The full spectrum is somewhat the Holy Grail of horticultural lighting! It means that the panel emits light across all wavelengths necessary for photosynthesis and the harmonious development of the plant, from blue for vegetative growth to red for flowering and fruiting. In practice, this allows your plants to receive exactly what they need at each stage of their life, as if they were under natural sunlight, but with unparalleled precision.
How to install an STBLED panel for indoor growing?
Installing an STBLED panel is generally very simple. I advise you to hang it above your plants using the supplied hanging kits, making sure it is stable and level. Most models are plug-and-play; just plug them into an electrical outlet. Don't forget to consult the user manual specific to your model for detailed instructions and safety precautions. The distance from the plants is crucial, I'll come back to that right after.
What distance between STBLED panel and plants?
Distance is an essential adjustment to optimize the efficiency of your STBLED and avoid light stress. In general, I recommend starting at about 40 to 60 cm from young seedlings and adjusting it as your plants grow. For flowering, you can often bring the lamp a little closer, around 30 to 45 cm, but this will depend on the power of your model and the sensitivity of your varieties. Observing your plants is your best indicator: if the leaves turn yellow or curl, the light is too intense or too close.
Is STBLED suitable for flowering?
Absolutely! STBLED panels are perfectly suited for flowering. Thanks to their optimized full spectrum, they provide the red and infrared wavelengths necessary to stimulate flower and fruit production, thus promoting high yields and superior quality. This is one of their great advantages over other types of lighting that may lack certain spectral components crucial at this stage.
Which STBLED panel to buy to start?
To start, I advise you to choose an STBLED model that offers a good balance between power and price, and that is suitable for the size of your planned growing space. A panel of 100 to 200W actual power can be an excellent starting point for a small grow tent. I recommend reading the detailed descriptions of our products and not hesitating to contact me if you have more specific questions about your project. The important thing is to start with reliable and efficient equipment to ensure the success of your first grows.
